1. Prefontaine Classic (Eugene, Oregon – July 5, 2025)

Kenya’s Beatrice Chebet shattered the women’s 5000m world record, clocking 13:58.06 to become the first woman in history to break the 14-minute barrier. Her performance surpassed the previous world record of 14:00.21 set by Gudaf Tsegay, in a thrilling finale at the Nike Prefontaine Classic, a premier Diamond League event.

Fellow Kenyan superstar Faith Kipyegon also set a new world record in the 1500m, further cementing her dominance in middle-distance racing.
